庐山真面 - lúshān zhēnmiàn

庐山 - one of China's most famous mountains, is located south of Jiujiang city in Jianxi province. Viewed horizontally, it looks like undulating hills, and viewed from the side, it resembles towering peaks. It looks different from every angle.

Literal Meaning - The true appearance of Lushan

Metaphorical Meaning - The truth of a thing, or the true color of a person.

Also Known As: 庐山真面目(lúshān zhēnmiànmù) and 庐山面目(lúshān miànmù)。
